Rovers
Rovers are the senior branch of Baden-Powell Scouting, intended for young men and women over the age of 17 who wish remain uniformed members of a section. As B.-P. originally intended, there is no upper age limit. Rovers are organized into self-governing Crews as part of an overall Scout Group. The Rover motto is simply "Service", and it is put into practice both in the Group and the community. All Baden-Powell Scouting leaders are required to be registered as Rovers to provide them with a more solid background in Scouting. The Rovering program is based upon two key works by B.-P.: Scouting for Boys and Rovering to Success. A Crew can be chartererd with a minimum of four Rovers. If no Crew exists in your area, you may register as a Lone Rover. All Rovers are required to attend a Brownsea Rover Squire Training course. For information on how to start a group, click here.
